Shady Acres Farm is located in Dover, Florida. It is owned and operated by Russell & Eva Nell Griffin. The Griffin’s are fourth generation to Dover and have been growing Fresh Florida Strawberries since 1974. Eva Nell’s father grew strawberries in the late 1940’s and 1950’s. The industry has come along way since then but the one thing that has never changed is Strawberries are still harvested by hand. The strawberry season in central Florida runs from November to April and these strawberries are some of the best. When our season is coming to an end we open the field for U-Pick’s. We have folks travel from all Florida to hand pick their own strawberries.
